The taste of Peru - on tour: first Paris, soon Scandinavia, a quick stop in London and ending in Germany

Find below a full description of the taste of Peru tour in Europe: 

SIAL Paris 2018-stage one (completed

This year CBI and Nutrimarketing France support Promperu and over 40 Peruvian companies in organising a number of side events in and around the Peruvian pavilion in hall 8. Some of the activities supported:

  • A cocktail event with Peruvian drinks and snacks for press and invited guests
  • Tasting sessions with typical Peruvian ingredients during the five days of SIAL
  • Two daily presentations at the SIAL innovation tour
  • Presentation session about the Peruvian black Alfonso Olive and the results of a sensorial studies performed by Oleica from Spain
  • Various participations in the SIAl new product innovation tour, with a maca/apple/honey ready to drink product and different gluten free pasta and bakery products  
  • Participation in the Alter´native food forum about ethical and sustainable sourcing

Stage 2: Natural and Organic Products Scandinavia - Malmo -November 14/15 -Stand J61

  • A pavilion with 3 Peruvian companies showcasing a number of fine foods from the Cusco and Tacna region
  • Tasting of different typical Peruvian foods, coffee and cacao 
  • A store and food company tour with a group of Peruvian companies, exploring the Nordic market  

Stage 3: Health Ingredients Europe - Frankfurt - 27-29 November -stand 8L92

  • A pavilion with 4 Peruvian and Colombian companies presenting bioactive ingrediens, plant proteins and different ingredients for healthy snacks 
  • Presentations during the innovation tour about clean label and cognitive health
  • Preparation of different snack products and healthy (vegetable) smoothies 

Meanwhile, we also made progress with these activities! 

  • CBI and the Peruvian olive sector presented the results of their characterisation study for black Peruvian alfonso olives, performed by Oleica Spain, during an industry workshop on the 24th of October, at SIAL
  • We supported the implementation of an online traceability system for the quinoa sector in the Ayacucho region of Peru, provding quinoa growers and exporters with better tools to track their crop and product through-out the chain.
  • We are making good progress with our sacha inchi snack novel food dossier application, where the full dossier is ready for publication 
  • We hired a team of nutritionists to complete the nutritional profiles of 14 Peruvian superfoods, that soon will be added to Peru.info.
