Formula Student victories at Hockenheim

The 2011 Formula Student competition in Germany, held at the Hockenheim circuit took place between 2-7th of August. In total there were six TeXtreme® reinforced cars competing in the combustion competition, and two teams in the electric competition.

In the electric competition TU Fast München (Technical University Munich, Germany) and Karlsruhe KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany) performed really well.

Karlsruhe KIT won the FSE Business Plan Presentation Event, they were finalists in other events, and ended up on fifth place in the overall of 28 competing teams.

TU Fast München performed excellently in FSE Autocross and won that event and finished on a respectable fourth place in the overall.

In the combustion competition TU Fast München distinguished themselves as the runner up in the overall, which they also succeeded to do at Silverstone, an impressing even top performance. Karlsruhe KIT finished on a good ninth place in the overall.

The other participating teams also achieved some good results: Raceyard Kiel (University of Applied Sciences Kiel, Germany) finished on 14th place, Baltic Racing Team (University of Applied Sciences Stralsund, Germany) ended up on place 30, Lions Racing Team (Braunschweig University of Technology, Germany) finished on 32nd, and TUW Racing (Vienna University of Technology, Austria) finished on 43rd place out of 75 competing teams.

Oxeon is happy for the contribution that TeXtreme® has had on the cars and their performance and hopes for even lighter cars next year.
