The announcement was made on 4 December 2025 at UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris during the Prix Versailles award ceremony. Kunstsilo had been shortlisted as the only Nordic museum among seven candidates in the category World’s Most Beautiful Museums.

Two occupants of a car that plunged into a freezing Oslo fjord escaped unharmed when a floating sauna came to their rescue, Norwegian police have said.
