​Do you need a bit of space this summer? Norway has got plenty and they want you to use it

As Norway announced that travellers from many European countries will again be able to visit the country from 15 July, they are also inviting to «Norwegian Space Travel».

No, Norway is not sending anyone to the Moon. Not this summer at least.

But they are inviting you to enjoy their available space this summer. And they have got a lot of it. According to the United Nations Association of Norway, there is an average of 15 people per square kilometre in Norway. Here you can enjoy tons of fresh air spread along the second longest coastline in the world.

– As Norway is finally opening again for European countries, we are quickly positioning ourselves as a safe holiday alternative. Norway has some advantages in this regard. We have a lot of space and we know that many out there are looking for exactly that. That's why we invite to «Norwegian Space Travel», says Bente Bratland Holm, director at Visit Norway.

As a part of the campaign, Visit Norway has created a video showing the beautiful scenery and space Norway has to offer. 

On Friday 10 July, the Norwegian government announced the new travel advice for EEA/Schengen countries after Norway introduced travel restrictions on 16 March due to Covid-19.

Bratland Holm is very much looking forward to once again welcome tourists to Norway.

– With just 5,4 million citizens, Norway gives home to about half of the population of London. Norway is a country with endless landscapes covered in forests, lakes, mountains, fjords and airy cities, and the «Norwegian Space Travel» campaign is about enjoying Norway in all of its greatness, Bratland Holm says.

    Exploring Norway feels like being on a mission in space
