New Festival: Bicycle Film Festival Stockholm

More and more people are riding bikes daily, and people now identify with bicycling as a lifestyle. On August 24 the bicycling lifestyle will be celebrated through a new event Bicycle Film Festival Stockholm at Medborgarplatsen in Stockholm.

During the festival featured four sets of views with short films on the theme of cycling, both fiction and documentary. The festival is arranged by UrbanBikeWear and Debaser Medis with cinema and subsequent film fest, dj-marathon and awards ceremony at bike festival competitions in Debaser Medis konsertdel. The festival is held at Debaser Medis in central Stockholm.

During the day, is also underway Stockholm Cykelfest (bike party) in and around Medborgarplatsen and Björns trädgård, including BMX competitions, SM in bike polo, trail, free bike service, bike builds etc.

"The reason we wanted to hit the festival is that it is an important catalyst for the international spread of bike culture and provides an exciting opportunity for a large number of independent filmmakers." Says Johan Carlsson, CEO UrbanBikeWear.com responsible producer for the festival.

Bicycle Film Festival is an international festival that was founded in New York in 2001. Some examples of people who took the director and photographer Albert Maysles (Grey Gardens, Gimme Shelter), director Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich), Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) and artist Tom Sachs.
