Increase: Close to 1 million guest nights in September 2013
967 000 guest nights was made in hotels and other commercial accommodations in Stockholm County during September 2013. It is an increase by 32 000, +3,4 percent, compared to the same period last year. Sweden in total experienced the same number of guest nights as the year before.
Guest nights from Swedish visitor increased by 6%. Foreign visitors' overnight stays decreased during the same time by 2%. Nordic guest night continues to grow, while the number of guest nights from Europe outside the Nordic decreases. Important markets like UK, Italy and the US continues to grow in September.
Stockholm is the engine in Swedens tourism with an increase of 3,4 % in Sepbember. The number of guest nights in Sweden in total didn't increase.
During the past ten years the number of bed nights has doubled. And the goal is to reach 15 million bed nights nights by 2020. In 2012, Stockholm had 10.8 million bed nights. So far this year, Stockholm has 8,4 million bed nights, which is a increase of 1 percent compared with the same period last year.
