The 11th YAMAHA ASEAN CUP RACE

Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. announces the holding of"The 11th YAMAHA ASEAN CUP RACE" over the two days of December 6-7, 2014 at the Sentul International Circuit (Overall length: approx. 3.96 km) in West Java, Indonesia. Yamaha Motor group company P.T. Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM) will host the event. Launched in 2003, the YAMAHA ASEAN CUP RACE is an event that aims to promote the sporty image of the Yamaha brand throughout the ASEAN region.

The championship will be contested in two new classes: the ST Class using the "YZF-R15" street sports model and the MT Class using the "JUPITER Z1"* sporty underbone type model.

Furthermore, the YZF-R25 has been chosen as the base model for the “ST25 Class,” the first exhibition race in the event’s history. The YZF-R25’s engine, chassis and other components will be race-modified for the event, and it will be ridden by Yamaha MotoGP riders Jorge Lorenzo and Pol Espargaró, and other top riders from around the ASEAN region in what will surely be an exciting race that shows the unique potential of the 250cc supersport model.
