Yamaha Motor Unveils Nickname Landmark at North Exit Square of New JR Mikuriya Station

IWATA, March 9, 2020 - Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Tokyo: 7272) unveiled on March 7 a nickname landmark installed in the “Yamaha Motor Revs Circle” at the North Exit Square (for which it has acquired the naming rights) of the new Mikuriya Station (Iwata City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, opened March 14) on the JR Tōkaidō Line.

The landmark is designed based on a tuning fork motif, as is the Yamaha logo, and at 12 meters high has a strong sense of presence. As well as Yamaha Motor employees, Mikuriya Station is anticipated to be used by many local residents, Yamaha Stadium spectators, and visitors to the Communication Plaza, Yamaha Motor's corporate museum. The base of the landmark will be used to showcase graphic designs that suit the season or events, providing a welcome to users of Mikuriya Station.
