In 1810, Danish artist C.W. Eckersberg set out on a journey that would shape his career. He arrived in Paris that October, renting a small attic room on Rue de Beaune. Shortly after, his fellow artist I.P. Møller joined him, and the two friends went on to live and work side by side. Together, they created several works – among them this intimate scene of a woman bathing her feet in a flowing river. The artwork is part of our themed auction, Nordic Masters. 🔗 Explore the details – and the full selection – via the link in our bio.

These small objects solved a very unpleasant problem: the smell of the dead. Vinaigrettes date back to the late 1600s. Filled with scented liquids like rosewater, they made it possible to endure the smell in churches where the deceased were buried beneath the floor. At the same time, they were elegant tokens of affection, gifted as a sign of serious intentions. 12 North Schleswig vinaigrettes are now up for auction in our themed sale Nordic Masters, celebrating the objects, designers, and artists who have shaped Nordic visual culture. 🔗 Discover the pieces and place your bid via the link in bio.
