This year’s Arvid Carlsson Award by Sahlgrenska Science Park was awarded to Filip Peters, Acorai, for turning smartphones into heart failure monitoring devices. With more than 60 million patients suffering from heart failure globally, the winner of the Arvid Carlsson Award is addressing a huge health and healthcare problem, by using new technologies to simplify the diagnosis and follow-up care.

Årets tema är framtidens hälsa – med fokus på hur människa möter teknik. 35 företag deltog i eHealth Award 2019 och Cross Technology Solutions tog hem segern med beslutsstödsystemet LifePod. Priset delades ut av Ann-Marie Wennberg, professor och sjukhusdirektör på Sahlgrenska Universitetssjukhuset, under invigningen av eHälsomässan Vitalis i Göteborg. Stolta finalister var även Boneprox och EASY-Diabetes.
Healthtech är en av de allra hetaste branscherna just nu och 35 företag har sökt till årets upplaga av eHealth Award. Tre finalister tävlar nu om förstaplatsen med innovationer kring tidig upptäckt av benskörhet, tidigare diabetesvård och behovs- och individanpassad vård av kroniska sjukdomar. Vinnaren koras under invigningen av Vitalis, Nordens största eHälsomöte, i Göteborg den 21 maj.
Digitaliseringen av vården skapar ett helt nytt yrke – med medicinare som också är ingenjörer. Det ger det västsvenska näringslivet unika möjligheter, enligt Åsa Lindström vid Sahlgrenska Science Park. Hon har själv en bakgrund som både sjuksköterska på intensiven och ingenjör inom fordon. Under tvådagarskonferensen Engineering Health pratar hon om branschöverskridande innovationssamarbeten.
HealthTech Nordic, Nordens största samling e-hälsobolag, bjöd i dag i Göteborg in till investeringsforum. Deltog gjorde 14 av Nordens mest lovande uppstartsbolag inom e-hälsa och 22 internationella investerare intresserade av den snabbt växande branschen.
