Are you and your home WINTER types?

And there are so many different whites to choose from. There’s Simply White, Pure White, Timid White, Spanish White, Glacier White, Sebring White and Snowfall White, just to name a few.

Happily, all this interest in whites and soft neutrals isn’t exclusive to walls and fabrics; white is extremely popular in flooring as well. You’re spoilt for choice, with the wide variety of white and light grey planks available. These floors create a clean, crisp look that is softened with rich grey, taupe (aka beige-brown) and brown undertones.

In addition, white walls and floors work together to add expanse to a room; they appear softer and dreamier when paired with light- to mid-tone taupes and browns. But when contrasted with darker colours such as chocolate, dark grey and black, they create a dramatic effect in a room. Whites work well with any design style you choose. And white makes an excellent backdrop for both bold pops of colour and richer dark neutrals and jewel tones

So if the thought of a white floor intrigues you, you just might be a Winter. Embrace your inner snow princess, and explore the light and white offerings available in the market (starting with ours!), then consider these interior decoration tips for a wintery room atmosphere:

Going for wood

A space with wood finishes or accents gives it a warm and cosy feel. You can achieve this effect with great impact by using wood or wood-like flooring and wall panels make more of an impact. However, there are simpler solutions too! Swap out a painting for a reclaimed wood art piece or introduce a rustic wood side table like a natural tree stump to place warm beverages. Organic and lovely!

Stylish Candles

Candles are a favourite due to their calming glow and festive element. Use subtle strings of light like fairy lights to wrap around indoor tree plants or tuck in a vase for interesting glimmer. Candle holders and votives are always a great go-to accent, but this winter design trend looks to the candlesticks themselves. Add color and even texture with these lovely light sources.

Metallic and Mirrored Surfaces

Another way to cast shine around the home is by incorporating accents with metallic surfaces and mirrored details. Not only will having different finishes offer design interest and contrast, but their illuminating quality will help with light reflection too.
