FRYD CHIKIN: London One-Man-Band 'Stink' Bomb Blasts Debut EP

 ORDER FRYD CHIKIN

Little has been heard of the elusive, vile FRYD CHIKIN since last October’s 4 a.m. after party set at the Funtastic Dracula Carnival XII. Some say he hijacked the KU Discotheque flying saucer, blasting off on a 70 Mars-day tour of the solar system's outer rim. Others claim he merely acculturated himself into the local Benidorm community of overweight, ex-pat British boozehounds.

Various reports have also placed his paper bag-masked presence in Pyongyang, North Korea, Scott Base in Antarctica, The Finsbury Pub in London, and the Chernobyl Nuclear reactor. While Dirty Water Records can neither confirm nor deny his actual whereabouts over the past 6 months we can confirm, though rather nervously, that FRYD CHIKIN IS BACK!!!

And he’s not coming empty handed either. He’s packing heat in the form of an 8 track EP out on the ultra hi-fidelity cassette tape format. Entitled ‘FRYD CHIKIN STINKS,’ this in unapologetic gospel on boozing, beheading and bad behaviour. We managed to reach out to the Mr. CHIKIN himself using an undisclosed London phone box and received this response:

“I’VE BEEN ALL OVER THE UNIVERSE BABY FROM TIMBUKTOO TO GAMMA QUADRANT 364 BUT I'VE NEVER EXPERIENCED A PLACE SO VILE, SO DEPRAVED, SO LACKING IN COMMON DECENCY AND DECORUM AS PLANET EARTH!! THAT’S WHY I KEEP COMING BACK! I WANNA DEDICATE THIS REKKID TO ALL YOU UGLY DISGUSTING FREAKS INHABITING THIS SAD LITTLE ROCK. ITS ABOUT SEX! ITS ABOUT BOOZE! ITS ABOUT DEATH! ITS ABOUT YOU!”

Make of that what you will; we couldn't possibly comment. One thing we know is that this cassette will rip your head off by the ears and mount it on a pike. So fragile listeners beware: FRYD CHIKIN is for the amoral & the hedonistic, the deranged & the cynical. If that sounds like you then pick up a copy.

The Dirty Water Club started in October 1996 in the Tufnell Park neighbourhood of north London, at a venue called The Boston. The club's name is derived from The Standells' 1966 hit 'Dirty Water' which glorifies the US city of Boston, Massachusetts.

Past performers have included The White Stripes (voted by Q Magazine as one of the top 10 gigs of all time, Mojo one of the top 30 and Kerrang one of the top 100!), The Gories, Country Teasers, Black Lips, NOBUNNY, Kid Congo Powers, The Fleshtones, Billy Childish, Radio Birdman, The Dirtbombs, Thee Michelle Gun Elephant, The 5.6.7.8's, The Horrors and The Brian Jonestown Massacre to name just a few. The club has also seen some original '60s performers, such as The Monks, ? and the Mysterians, Kim Fowley, Sky Saxon, GONN, Michael Davis of the MC5 and more grace its stage.

Their in-house record label, Dirty Water Records, is one of the leading garage/beat/(real) R&B labels in the world.
