Six reasons why you should nominate for the London Sport Awards 2020

With the nomination’s deadline (Wednesday 8 January) for the London Sport Awards supported by the City of London Corporation edging closer, it’s vital to submit your nominees before it’s too late. Whether it’s sat on your to-do list or you’re still considering submitting a nomination, here’s six great reasons why you should get it done:

Free and simple

Entry to the London Sport Awards is free. There are no costs attached to making a nomination, and the entry form is quick and easy to fill out.

All we need, in addition to some basic details, is up to 500 words on why your nominee is so inspiring.

Celebrate your successes

The Awards showcases excellence from across the capital and truly celebrates the successes of Londoners that dedicate their efforts to help make the city a more active place.

The evening itself, this year at the Guildhall, is an incredible celebration of projects and people helping to make the capital the most active city in the world and is not to be missed.

Recognition across the capital

Our Award winners are recognised as London’s finest. The London Sport Awards provides you with an incredible platform to share your success and promote best practice.

Being shortlisted boosts London-wide awareness of the amazing work being done throughout the capital and paves the way for other Londoners to get involved

Wide range of categories

For 2020 we have two new categories taking us up to ten Awards which range from technology to health and wellbeing, from community impact to volunteers.

For the first time, we have Awards dedicated to celebrating an inspirational young person in the capital and the contributions of business

We've got all aspects of the physical activity and sport sector covered so no matter what area you’re working in, there’s an Award category to suit.

That feel-good feeling

The London Sport Awards allows you to nominate yourself, or recognise one of your partners, colleagues or an external project which has really impressed you.

Knowing you have taken the first step to giving your unsung hero the chance to be in the running to receive an Award is worthwhile in itself.

Similarly, finding out that you or your organisation has been shortlised is a major morale boost and will fuel your motivation to continue the hard work throughout 2020.

Expert judging panel

Your nominations are in safe hands. Our diverse panel of expert judges come from all areas within the physical activity and sport industry.

Their experience means they recognise incredible work when they see it, so if your nomination is one of the final shortlisted three it's fully deserved.
