Active London returning in 2019 to explore innovation in physical activity

Active London, the largest annual conference dedicated wholly to the future of physical activity and sport in the nation’s capital, will return in September 2019 to explore the ways that innovation is changing physical activity across London.

Curated by London Sport, the strategic agency working to make London the most physically active city in the world, Active London 2019 will bring together global, national and regional examples of innovation-in-practice to shape a collaborative vision for the future of physical activity and sport for future generations of Londoners.

The event, which will this year take place at central London event space 30 Euston Square, will build on discussions begun at last year’s Active London where Sir Muir Gray and Dr Yvonne Doyle were among the keynote speakers focusing on the role of physical activity in advancing public health outcomes.

The full agenda, to be released shortly, is set to feature a range of projects and initiatives covering innovation in technology, insight and communities as delegates are invited to explore the ways that creative approaches to physical activity and sport can help improve the lives of Londoners and the future of the city itself.

Lorna Leach, London Sport Strategic Relationship Manager, said:

“This year’s Active London event will bring together a huge number of the strands of work that London Sport and many of our partners have explored over the past 12 months.

“Innovation in physical activity is taking place in a huge number of areas, not only from a technology perspective, but in disciplines ranging from urban planning and regeneration to social integration and community development.

“We look forward to bringing together some of the most exciting and creative developments in physical activity at Active London 2019 and using it as a launchpad to shape the future of physical activity and sport in London.”
