Elder care campaigner Amanda Waring deeply saddened by Town Hall Funding discrimination news
Jan 30, 2012 12:52 GMT
Amanda Waring, Elder Care Campaigner and Dignity Ambassador for the Governement's Dignity Board, was left deeply saddened by the news in todays Daily Mail; shedding light on the elderly in our society that are losing out by £500m a year in the funding of care, because of town halls age discrimination..
'It upsets me greatly to witness again the discriminatory approach of both distribution and prioritising of funds.' Amanda commented 'and furthermore that elder care is still not attracting the support that is vitally needed.'
Amanda continued with 'The balance of distribution must be addressed where the frail and the needy's requirements are supported, thus enabling us to say that we are a humane society that considers all generations and does not penalise those that have lived, loved and learnt longer than the rest of us.'
Amanda's own campaigning work for elder care matters continues this week with the celebration of Dignity Action Day this Wednesday. Amanda will be visiting and talking with both schools and care homes in her local area of West Sussex. Both her Dignity Song and award winning passionate films regarding dignity in care, will be the focus of many events throughout the country.
Amanda hopes that we all can be inspired to become 'Dignity Champions' and lend our own support to such a vital cause and campaign.
