Dip into the local pond life

On Sunday 30 March the ‘family pond dip’ is returning to the Hollingworth Lake Visitor Centre. After years of successful dips, it’s been recognised as its most popular event.

To discover what creatures are lurking beneath the water, join the Hollingworth Lake Rangers for a pond dip from 1pm til 2.30pm.

Cabinet Member for Place and Regulation, Councillor Jacqui Beswick said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for young people and families to enjoy a day out at one of the local wildlife hot spots. Pond dipping is a great way to discover creatures which you wouldn’t normally find in a typical back garden, assisted by the wonderful Hollingworth Lake Rangers”.

The event is aimed at seven to 12 year olds and warm waterproof clothing and footwear is a must so you can fully immerse yourself into the activities.

Booking is essential and you will need to pay £2.50 per person for your place over the phone.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

To book a place or for further information please call the Visitor Centre on 01706 37342.
