Our exciting Bunker Refurbishment is underway...

Between now and next spring, part of our famous Golf Course is undergoing a very exciting bunker refurbishment. During the winter period, holes one to nine (the Colt section) will be closed as these improvements are made.

Our Golf Course is amongst the best in England and was initially designed in 1908 by Harry Colt and over the years it has made appearances on the big screen, including arguably the most famous Golf Match which was held between Goldfinger and Bond in the 1964 classic – Goldfinger. Another historical golfing event, the PGA Matchplay, was held here in 1910.

The development is estimated to take twenty weeks and there will be some minor changes made to the shapes and sizes of the bunkers but the positioning will remain the same. These exciting changes will be enhancing one of the finest parkland golf experiences in the UK.

Whilst the Colt section of our course is closed, the Lane Jackson and Alison courses will still remain open so there will always be 18 holes available to our Members and Visitors to play.

Our very own Golf Team, Stuart Collier and our Estate Director Alex Millar will be working very closely with one of Europe’s leading Golf Course construction companies, John Greasely Limites to improve and enhance holes one-nine over the next few months. We look forward to reopening and welcoming you all to play our new and improved Colt nine in 2016!
