#VolunteersWeek - Meet Jim, our Head Office volunteer

Jim, a retired teacher from Wallington, has been volunteering in our head office since the start of this year – and we couldn’t be happier!

Once a week, Jim comes in and supports our team wherever help is needed. We managed to catch up with him to ask him a little bit about why he chose to volunteer for The Sick Children’s Trust. He says:

“I wanted to do some volunteering with the free time I had since retiring last August. I discovered The Sick Children’s Trust and I liked its purpose of providing free accommodation for families with very sick children. Having a sick child must be very stressful. Therefore, it must be reassuring for these parents that the worry of finding and paying for accommodation is looked after by the charity.

“I really enjoy working in head office with the staff – who are always friendly and helpful. I would encourage anyone who is thinking about volunteering for a charity to give it a go, as I’m sure, like me – that you will find it very rewarding.”
