New: Steam boat museum, bar and restaurant with a view

Four historic steamers adorning a quality restaurant have just opened on a new pier on the Strandvägen boulevard on Östermalm in Stockholm. The new place is named Ångbåtsbryggan - Museum, bar and restaurant. Ångbåtsbryggan (steam-ship bridge) is situated on quay 18 on Strandvägen.

Ångbåtsbryggan consists of two parts: the museum Ångbåtsbryggan with four beautiful steamers and the restaurant Ångbåtsbryggan which is situated on the barge.

The idea of Ångbåtsbryggan is to bring to life an important era in Sweden's early industrial development to make a stronger conection to the maritime history of Stockholm. At the turn of the last century nearly 200 steamers trafficated Lake Mälaren, four of which now are moored at Ångbåtsbryggan.

The restaurant menu is inspired by the first class menu on the world's most famous steamship - Titanic. The wine list is divided into first, second and third class and the menu offers a variety of luxury snacks as canapés and duets, but also more substantial food like "Ångbåtsbiff" (steamer steak). The restaurant is run by Stockholms Restauranger & Wärdshus
