Axkid releases 2025 Sustainability Report: stronger data, greater transparency and continued focus on responsible growth

Axkid today publishes its 2025 Sustainability Report, outlining how the company continues to strengthen its sustainability work as the business grows internationally. The report highlights progress in product-level transparency, climate reporting, governance and supply chain follow-up, while also providing a more transparent view of remaining challenges and limitations.

During 2025, Axkid took several important steps to make its sustainability work more structured, evidence-based and transparent. This included publishing Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for major product platforms on its website, as well as completing greenhouse gas calculations for both 2024 and 2025 with external support and full alignment with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

The company’s transparency-first approach was also recognised through an Excellence Rating in the ESG Transparency Award for its 2024 Sustainability Report.

“Safety has always been at the core of Axkid, and that mindset also shapes how we approach sustainability. For us, progress is not about making the story sound better, but about making our impacts, trade-offs and limitations clearer,” says Daniel Johansson, CEO of Axkid.

As Axkid continues to grow, the report shows that total greenhouse gas emissions increased in 2025, mainly driven by higher product volumes, materials and transport. At the same time, emissions intensity decreased, indicating that emissions grew more slowly than revenue. The report highlights both perspectives, while underlining the need for long-term absolute reductions over time.

A significant share of Axkid’s environmental and social impact sits across its value chain. During 2025, the company collected more supplier data than ever before and completed BSCI audits covering around 80 percent of supplier spend. The report shows progress in key labour-rights areas, while also identifying continued challenges related to working hours, documentation quality and unverified environmental data.

Product design remains a central part of Axkid’s sustainability strategy. During the year, the company continued integrating durability and lifetime requirements into product development, while further developing circular initiatives such as Axkid Care and preparatory work for second-hand flows.

“Our ambition is clear: to enable safe journeys for the next generation while building a more sustainable business over time. That means better data, better decisions and continuous improvement across our products, operations and value chain,” says Daniel Johansson.
