Swedish car seat brand Axkid launches in North America
Bringing Swedish child safety — a global benchmark — to the U.S. and Canada
Gothenburg, Sweden / February 19, 2026 – Axkid, the Swedish premium child safety brand known for its commitment to extended rear-facing travel, today announced its official launch in North America. The rollout begins in the United States, with Canada to follow.
Swedish child passenger safety is widely regarded as a global benchmark, shaped by decades of research, policy development, and a strong safety culture centered around keeping children rear-facing longer — at least 4–5 years. Sweden is consistently recognized as having among the lowest road fatality rates internationally¹, an outcome often linked to its early adoption of extended rear-facing travel — an approach aligned with Sweden’s broader Vision Zero road safety ambition. Axkid is now bringing that safety philosophy to families across North America.
“Our launch in North America marks a major milestone for Axkid as we take the next step toward becoming a truly global player. With Axkid One 3 and Axkid Up™ — two of our most innovative platforms — we are bringing Swedish safety to new markets with the ambition not only to enter the U.S., but to help set a new benchmark for child safety across the region,” said Anton Wall, Vice President and Commercial Director at Axkid.
Introducing Axkid One 3 and Axkid Up™
Axkid will launch in the U.S. with two of its most awarded and innovative products: Axkid One 3, a rear-facing car seat engineered to support extended rear-facing travel up to 7 years of age, with advanced safety technology and intuitive installation. And Axkid Up™, a forward-facing high-back booster designed to help elevate safety for older children through a height-adjustable seat that lifts the child into an optimal position in the vehicle — enabling the car’s built-in safety systems, including the seat belt and other protective features, to work as effectively as possible.
Both products reflect Axkid’s focus on Swedish engineering, rigorous testing, and premium Scandinavian design. Additional product launches are planned as Axkid continues to expand its North American lineup.
Strong market interest in the U.S.
Leading Axkid’s U.S. operations is Hans Bergman, Country Manager, USA, who sees significant opportunity for the brand in the market.
“We’re seeing a growing interest among U.S. families and retailers in solutions that go beyond minimum requirements. From trade shows to conversations with specialty retailers, the response to Axkid has been extremely positive. Many have followed Axkid’s track record in Europe for years and are impressed by the innovation and engineering behind its seats. We believe Axkid can bring something truly differentiated to the U.S. market by raising expectations of what premium child safety can look like,” said Hans Bergman, Country Manager, USA.
Together with a dedicated local team and carefully selected specialty partners, Axkid will focus on building long-term relationships and establishing itself as a trusted reference brand within the premium child safety segment in North America.
The launch marks an important step in Axkid’s global growth — and in its mission to pioneer safe adventures and bring Swedish child safety to more families worldwide.
