Press release -

Flooring company Bjelin invests in click furniture

Bjelin, renowned for its eco-friendly and durable click flooring, invests in furniture assembled entirely without glue, nails, screws or any other specialty tools drawing on the same patented click lock technology used in their flooring products. With the acquisition of the wood processing plant Bjelin Spacva, located at the Spacva forest in Croatia, long term supply of oak, ash and capacity required for the production of click furniture is secured.

Johan Larsson, currently Bjelins Sales and Marketing Director, is appointed Managing Director for Bjelin Sweden and assigned with the task of taking the new click furniture to the market. Former MD for Bjelin, Zoran Mihajlovic will lead the new venture and develop the new click furniture product line together with Välinge Innovation and Bjelin Spacva as Director of Product Development at Pervanovo, owner of Bjelin. In addition, Mr Mihajlovic will also lead product development of Bjelin’s range of flooring products.

– First step is to produce furniture from massive oak, such as dining tables, coffee tables and sideboards and from there continue with large scale production of flat click furniture such as kitchen cabinets, benches and storage furniture, says Zoran Mihajlovic, Director of Product Development, Pervanovo.

Wood is the best material for furnishing from a sustainability perspective, although raw materials from forests are a finite resource. In the production of Bjelin’s hardened wood flooring, the patented manufacturing process extracts ten times as much flooring space from each tree trunk compared to traditional production. With the new click furniture product line, Bjelin Spacva can maximize the wooden raw material with the smallest leftover wood pieces becoming perfect components for countertops, cabinets and tables.

– The success of our hardened wooden floors shows the demand for sustainable furnishing in wood and we believe in the same positive development for the new click furniture as we have experienced with our click flooring, says Johan Larsson, CEO, Bjelin.

Sales of the new click furniture will be provided through the existing e-commerce site at www.bjelin.se

– We are investing to become one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of click furniture and are planning to reach a turnover of billions in the coming years says Darko Pervan, founder and CEO at Pervanovo, owner of Bjelin.

Reinventing the flooring market

Bjelin is part of the Pervanovo Invest AB Group and develops and manufactures a wide range of flooring products, including traditional wooden floors and innovative floors from new materials. This development is in collaboration with sister company Välinge Innovation AB, best known as the inventor of the first mechanical floor locking system.

Production takes place in Bjelin’s state-of-the-art factories in Sweden and Croatia, where the company has access to high-quality FSC-certified wood. For generations, highly experienced employees have worked there to refine the well-known Slavonic oak into wine barrels – and now floors.
