AMAC Aerospace Turkey: Accomplished Maintenance on Commercial and VIP
With the end of the winter season and the return to service for several commercial customers' aircraft, AMAC Aerospace's Bodrum hangar is currently seeing a mix of VIP and commercial aircraft.
A recent completed commercial project was a base maintenance partial check for a B777-200 aircraft belonging to a long term customer. The work package was scheduled as a small project when it was received, but several items were added during the input. Although the hangars were full at the time, with some flexibility, the team managed to schedule the additional tasks. The work included inspecting the trimmable horizontal stabilizer (THS) actuator safety rod, the THS actuator lugs and rudder torque, as well as replacing the fire bottle and main battery.
At the end of the inspection, the team discovered some issues with the auxiliary power unit (APU), which needed to be replaced. Despite some challenges, the team found a new APU, had it shipped to Bodrum for installation and met the scheduled TAT.
A VIP Airbus ACJ 319 belonging to a long term customer of the AMAC Aerospace Group of Companies arrived at the Bodrum hangar for the first time for A1 and A2 maintenance inspections. The scope of work included removing and installing the floor panels and fan blades, as well as completing ship-shop-ship items. Several findings were discovered during the inspection, and the customer requested an earlier delivery, making the project challenging. AMAC Aerospace Bodrum’s team worked overtime to meet this request, managing to deliver the aircraft four days ahead of the planned turnaround time (TAT).
The customer was very pleased with the support and stated: “We are very happy to work with you. The communication with your staff is excellent, and they are always willing to help resolve problems.”
