AMAC Aerospace Turkey: C Check and 12-Month Inspection Performed on Dassault Falcon Aircraft
In July, AMAC Aerospace Turkey was pleased to redelivered 2x Dassault Falcon aircraft following heavy maintenance inspections.
One of the aircraft was a privately owned Dassault Falcon 2000 that came to the Istanbul hangar for a C check. The scope of work included several inspections, such as 12-, 24-, and 36-month inspections, as well as 1B, 1C, and 2C checks. Additionally, the landing gear and the flight control components were sent to the shop for an overhaul and the head-up guidance computer was sent for repairs. During the inspections, corrosion was found on the engine inlet skins, so blend out was performed to remove all corrosion, after which protections were applied. AMAC Aerospace’s team also found traces of a hydraulic leak under the Hydraulic System 1 reservoir, so they replaced the shut-off valves. Water leaks were observed around the aft vanity and the pipes were found to be loose, so they were retightened. The door lift cables were found to be disconnected from the switch, therefore, the parts were reconnected to the original configuration. Lastly, several parts were replaced, including the GPS antenna, ramp light, fire extinguisher, automatic direction finder (ADF) antenna, and brake unit assembly.
The other aircraft was a Dassault Falcon 2000LXS belonging to a long term customer. It underwent a 12-month inspection, which included several annual inspection tasks, a basic inspection, and out-of-phase tasks. One of the engines was inspected and underwent troubleshooting due to an engine surge. The auxiliary power unit (APU) actuator modulating diffuser vane was found faulty and replaced. The ceramic parts of the engine's igniters were found to be eroded, so they were replaced with new units. Additionally, some lightning stripes were found to be missing, so new parts were installed. The main wheels were sent to the shop for tire replacement and several servicing operations were performed on the systems. The databases were updated to the latest cycles, and the engine diagnostic unit (EDU) was replaced, and its data was mirrored.
The customer requested a shorter downtime due to several scheduled flights, and AMAC Aerospace managed to meet that request despite several additional items, thanks to overtime work by the team.
