AMAC Aerospace's hangars in Basel with 5x Boeing B747

Press release -

Busy Year for Maintenance Activities at AMAC Aerospace Switzerland

EuroAirport, 17.11.2025 AMAC Aerospace has experienced a continued high demand for maintenance on all aircraft types so far this year and is proud to announce that we have completed over 150+ maintenance projects, so far.

"Over the last year, we have experienced consistently high demand in Basel, reflecting strong customer trust and satisfaction among our long term clients. Our customers are very loyal and are sometimes even willing if needed to adjust their maintenance slots in order to be able to come to AMAC Basel. This is a result of our flexibility and the dedication of our highly skilled employees providing highest quality standards and adhering to the agreed aircraft downtime” said Ruedi Kurz, Director of Maintenance Organization and Accountable Manager CAMO at AMAC Aerospace Switzerland.

Of the more than 150 completed projects in 2025, several milestones have been achieved. In May, 5x Boeing B747 aircraft underwent maintenance and refurbishment simultaneously at our premises in Basel, Switzerland. AMAC Aerospace also finished two major Boeing SB/AD projects on B747-8i aircraft with cracked fuselage stringers and currently has a third aircraft in the hangar for this repair. The stringers were inspected both visually and by NDT professionals and new stringers were manufactured and installed inhouse by AMAC Aerospace’s highly skilled sheet metal team. AMAC Aerospace is one of the few MRO centers worldwide that can facilitate this number and size of aircraft simultaneously, as well as perform such specialized work in-house. Additionally, many other significant inspections, modifications and system upgrades were performed throughout the year.

AMAC Aerospace expects the high demand for maintenance, modifications and system upgrades on all aircraft types to continue in 2026 and has already begun to fill up slots, especially for wide-body aircraft, for which it is more crucial to reserve slots well in advance due to their size. Operators are encouraged to contact AMAC Aerospace’s teams already to plan their maintenance for 2026.
