Thank you for waiting so patiently for the Champagne Club to finally become the world-leading independent platform for champagne knowledge and champagne enjoyment that we have been hoping for for over 20 years. We have finally got it together at the level we have always strived for. The gods should know that I often tore my long-non-existent hair when technology played us erratic pranks. Today we have a Dream team with world-class players in every position who with your help are ready to both offer "the champagne world's instagram" in the form of our app, as well as to provide you with all the updated information about the drink of life you can ever ask for.
My database with over 12,000+ unique tasting notes and scores will be the hub that everything revolves around, but the most important cogs in the wheel are all of you who, by sharing your own champagne experiences around the world, will enrich and steer the champagne world in the right direction towards even higher quality and even more joy and exuberant champagne enjoyment.
We in our team are extremely happy with and proud of how we have now designed Champagne Club, but we do not intend to settle down. INTERNATIONAL DOCUSERIES PROJECT First week of July RJ was interviewed and filmed for a pilote called ’No offence’ - an original docuseries about the world of criticism, tastemaking and trend-setting that will showcase first-hand accounts of some of its most important voices. In the episode on wine RJ is showcased as the top expert in the world on champagne.

CHAMPAGNE HIKING [the concept & app]
My hunt for new champagne experiences has brought me to the most beautiful and exciting places. My favourite memories are linked to the moments when I enjoyed well selected champagnes in harmony with the beauty of nature.
For a long time I have been analyzing why a certain champagne tastes best at a particular time in a particular place. Travelling to optimize champagne experiences is the starting point for the book & app. I have called this concept CHAMPAGNE HIKING.
There is an increased understanding that all of our senses contribute when we experience pleasure. Factors such as location, company, and mood will affect the overall experience. When attending play or concert, this has long been a matter of course, but within the world of gastronomy this is a fairly recent realisation.
This revolutionary idea is championed by fantastic food creators such as Heston Blumenthal, at mist smelling of the sea. If he could, he would move you to the beach where the oysters were collected. While The Fat Duck as the guests take the first bite of a wonderful seafood dish, they might be offered sounds of waves hitting the shore, seagulls shrieking, and a light physical transportation is impossible, the divine champagne in the cooler bag will momentarily move your being the to the optimal location, one bottle at the time. And I will tell you how.
