Fast-changing conditions, combined with long, wide, and largely untouched mountain terrain, make ski touring in Sweden a unique challenge. @tom_olivers says growing up in Sweden has turned him into an adaptable skier who tries to make the best of any situation. “Sometimes we ski on nothing but ice and hard-packed snow because the mountain’s been completely blown clean. Our strength isn’t powder — we just don’t get it that often. It’s not our natural habitat. But we’re good at handling varied, difficult conditions. And when we do get good conditions, I think we’re among the most grateful skiers in the world. Because when it’s good at home, it’s really, really good.” "The Swedish way is that you’re not close to much — it’s wilderness, and you have to be able to take care of yourself out there. The climate is tougher to deal with. There’s more wind. It’s colder than in the Alps. And the weather can shift fast up in the mountains. That puts quite a lot of pressure on your gear, in a way you don’t get in many other places. Here, you have to think more carefully about your clothing and safety because you’re farther from shelter, like on Everest, in a way. You’re far from help. It just requires more preparation.” #haglöfs #outsidersbynature

For ten years, we’ve been standing against Black Friday, highlighting the pressures it places on workers across the supply chain and on the environment. Today is no different. We keep giving the culture of heavy, systematic discount-driven shopping the cold shoulder. That’s why we’re open without any additional discounts. Our stores and outlets, both physical and digital, will keep their normal prices. It’s just business as usual. Find out more about why we continue to oppose Black Friday and the difference between systematic discounting and regular sales in our bio. #haglöfs #outsidersbynature

Your shell jacket works hard. Keep it breathing and performing. Wash it gently, reactivate the DWR, and don’t forget the drawcords and seams. Our guide shows you how to care for it — so it keeps caring for you. Step by step: 1. Close all zippers and fastenings. Protect the fabric and seams during wash. 2. Wash gently. Use a mild, technical detergent, no softeners. 3. Reproof when water stops beading. Use a biodegradable treatment after washing. 4. Rinse thoroughly. Leftover detergent can block breathability. 5. Dry with heat to reactivate repellency. Tumble dry or use a drying cabinet. Read more on our website → link in bio. #haglofs #outsidersbynature

A period of great anticipation — in Sweden, the line between autumn and winter is often a blurry one, and devoted skiers like our ambassador @skimanguy are always on the lookout for a patch of snow. "When autumn arrives, I immediately start thinking about the first snow. Before winter really begins, there are always a few snowfalls that stay for a couple of days – and that’s when we set up the rail setup in Rödkullen in Åre. Someone brings plastic pipes and metal rails, and suddenly there’s a whole crew out there grilling sausages, playing music, and riding all day. It’s the perfect way to kick off the season. Everyone hikes up together, tries the same tricks over and over until they land them, and the vibe is just amazing. You can really feel that winter is coming. We even camped there once, just for fun – woke up right next to the rails. That’s the real start of the season." #haglöfs #outsidersbynature
