    The Schilthorn Cableway Ltd. can look back on an excellent summer season 2025. Demand has risen sharply since the reopening of the Schilthorn summit with the new Funifor cable car in mid-March. However, the ongoing construction work for the SCHILTHORNBAHN 20XX project has once again placed heavy demands on the company.

  • Winter season start at Riggli chairlift

    On Saturday, 1st November 2025, the official 2025/2026 winter season starts at the Riggli chairlift. Thanks to snow farming, a complete ski slope and a snow park has been created for the third time in a row. With the opening of the second Funifor track between Mürren and Birg at the end of November, this route will reach full capacity just in time for the peak season.

The opening of the world's steepest cable car and Switzerland's first Funifor cable car in mid-December were among the major milestones in 2024

  • The Schilthorn summit is once again accessible to all!

    On Saturday, 15th March 2025, the Schilthorn - Piz Gloria will open again after being inaccessible for five months. The first track of the two new Funifor cable cars will start operating and the 360° restaurant and the Top Shop will also open again. Construction work will continue in parallel with guest operations. The major project will be completed in spring 2026.

  • 81st Inferno Downhill race: Warm temperatures dominate the race

    The 81st International Inferno Races 2025 in Mürren are history: a Bernese Oberland triple victory was thwarted in both the men's and women's downhill races. Kilian Burri from Boltigen and Tanja Brawand from Grindelwald both came out on top. However, the race was clearly dominated by the warm temperatures, which simply made it impossible to win with a high start number.
