Deutsche ReGas Unloads First LNG Shipment for BASF
With the arrival of the LNG tanker "Hellas Athina" at the end of August, the first LNG shipment for BASF was unloaded at Deutsche ReGas. The unloading at the "Deutsche Ostsee" energy terminal on the island of Rügen took place as part of the long-term agreement on regasification capacities that BASF and Deutsche ReGas concluded in 2025. The liquefied natural gas (LNG) is regasified at the terminal and then fed into the German long-distance gas grid as natural gas.
Ingo Wagner, Managing Partner of Deutsche ReGas, expressed his delight at the first LNG shipment, noting that BASF had selected the company as a long-term infrastructure partner. The arrival of the tanker was also used as an opportunity for a press conference.
