First LNG Tanker Successfully Unloaded at Stade Terminal
In early November, the first LNG tanker arrived at the new floating LNG terminal of Deutsche Energy Terminal (DET) in Stade, Germany. The Lech Kaczynski came from the Plaquemines terminal in Louisiana, USA, and unloaded approximately 160,000 cubic meters of LNG (93 million standard cubic meters of natural gas) into the Energos Force floating LNG recovery unit (FSRU).
This marks the start of the terminal's commissioning phase. According to the operator, the transfer of the LNG to the FSRU went smoothly. The first gas delivery (First Gas) from the facility to the long-distance gas grid is scheduled to begin in the coming days.
