German Eeule One GmbH Concludes a Framework Agreement for the Purchase of E-Methanol.
German eFuel One GmbH, a manufacturer of alternative fuels, signed a preliminary agreement for e-methanol with HIF Global in February. The agreement covers the delivery of approximately 100,000 metric tons of e-methanol per year, produced at HIF's Paysandú project in Uruguay. This agreement establishes the key commercial conditions for negotiating a final offtake contract.
The e-methanol delivered to the Port of Hamburg under this agreement, which will also be made available to German customers, meets the requirements of the International Methanol Producers and Consumers Association (IMPCA) and is certified according to the EU RED III RFNBO standard. The resulting e-fuel will be used in the shipping and industrial sectors or further processed into other sustainable fuels such as e-gasoline for cars or e-SAF for aircraft.

Christian Hanke, CEO of German eFuel One, explained that the project lays the foundation for reliable industrial production of e-fuels and thus makes an important contribution to a technology-neutral path to climate neutrality in the transport sector. Hanke added that the reliable import of green molecules is also of central importance for the Port of Hamburg, where the delivered quantities are planned to be received.
