Hydrogen Core Grid Operators Publish Market Information Package on Capacity Reservation
At the beginning of March, the operators of the hydrogen core grid published a market information package outlining developments in the hydrogen core grid in the form of clusters and clarifying available capacities. This serves as the basis for initiating a coordinated process at the end of March, in which market participants can reserve initial hydrogen core grid capacities. The information provided is intended to give market participants investment and planning security by enabling them to secure the necessary injection and withdrawal capacities for their supply relationships at an early stage.
Reservations are made via a standardized request form, which can be accessed on the website of the respective injection or withdrawal point. Companies can initially reserve capacities based on the planned grid structure for 2026–2030. Long-term developments beyond this period will be published later and aligned with the official grid development plan.
FNB Gas Managing Director Barbara Fischer emphasized during the announcement that the coordinated marketing process represents an important step towards a successful market ramp-up for hydrogen. The reservation options would simplify access to the hydrogen core grid and offer companies security for their project developments.
