Thyssengas is Preparing a Hydrogen Pipeline Between Uedemerbruch and Xanten
Since November 2nd, the distribution grid operator Thyssengas has been carrying out pipeline construction work in Xanten, North Rhine-Westphalia. This work is in preparation for the future hydrogen pipeline between Uedemerbruch and Xanten. The project is expected to take approximately seven weeks and be completed by the end of December.
As part of the work, a loop is being installed in the existing pipeline. This loop will allow a so-called pig to be guided through the pipeline and reverse its direction. The pipeline will be technically inspected using the pig next year. Such testing devices can, among other things, examine the condition and quality of pipelines.
