Verbio Opens New Bio-CNG/Bio-LNG Filling Station

Verbio is expanding its network of filling stations with the commissioning of a new Bio-CNG/Bio-LNG station on the A9 motorway between Nuremberg and Leipzig. At Esbachgraben 10, 95463 Bindlach, hauliers can now refuel climate-friendly and cost-effective Bio-CNG and Bio-LNG from Verbio around the clock. This not only enables significant cost savings compared to diesel but also improves greenhouse gas emissions.

Growing Network of Filling Stations

Since 2021, Verbio has been investing in its own network of Bio-CNG and Bio-LNG stations, strengthening nationwide access to environmentally friendly fuel alternatives. To date, 25 Verbio-owned Bio-CNG/Bio-LNG stations are already in operation across Germany, with more set to follow in the coming months. In addition, Verbio has a trading partnership with BayWa Power Liquids GmbH (BPL), enabling hauliers to refuel Verbio Bio-LNG at eleven BayWa LNG self-service stations. Verbio stations are open 24/7, accepting not only the in-house Verbio fuel card but also a wide range of fuel cards, including DKV and UTA.

Strong Partner for Cost-Efficient and Sustainable Truck Logistics

Hauliers and companies with their own fleets will find a strong partner for green mobility in Verbio. Verbio’s biomethane is produced from agricultural residues. The biofuel achieves up to a 100% reduction in CO₂ emissions and offers a significant cost advantage over fossil diesel.

In addition to public Bio-CNG/Bio-LNG stations, Verbio also implements bespoke filling station projects. Partners such as Heidelberg Materials, Reinert Logistic, Reichhart Logistik, Transgourmet, and Reck Busreisen are already relying on tailored Verbio solutions for more economical and climate-friendly truck freight transport.

Biomethane: A High-Performance Fuel

Biomethane is a climate-friendly and cost-effective alternative to fossil diesel for truck freight transport and public transport. It can be refuelled in gaseous form (as Bio-CNG) or in liquefied form (as Bio-LNG). A standard truck running on Bio-CNG can cover 500 to 750 kilometres per tank. For long-haul routes, LNG propulsion is particularly attractive, with ranges of 1,000 to 1,600 kilometres between refuelling stops. Manufacturers such as Scania, IVECO, and Volvo offer suitable production vehicles.

Verbio is also gradually converting its own fleet to low-emission technology: currently, 120 of its nearly 150 tractor units have been switched to CNG or LNG propulsion and are operated predominantly with Bio-CNG and Bio-LNG from its own production.
