Bastian Buus Ahead of 24 Hours of Spa: “We're Here to Win”
Following a top result at the Nürburgring, the Danish Porsche factory driver is ready to take on the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps with a strong lineup.
It’s only been a few days since Bastian Buus crossed the finish line in a Porsche 911 GT3 R to claim a podium in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring. Now, the Danish Porsche factory driver has arrived at Spa-Francorchamps, where yet another legendary 24-hour race awaits this weekend. And it’s a race Buus and the rest of the Dinamic GT squad are fully determined to win.
“We’re heading to Spa with strong momentum from last weekend, where we finished on the podium in one of the world’s toughest endurance races. Now it’s all about keeping that momentum going in another 24-hour event – one where every manufacturer throws everything they’ve got at it, and where our ambitions are even higher,” says Bastian Buus.
Just like at the Nürburgring, Bastian Buus will compete for the Italian Dinamic GT outfit, Porsche Motorsport’s official lineup at Spa-Francorchamps. That means the factory effort has been turned up to maximum, with a highly ambitious team assembled. Buus will share his Porsche 911 GT3 R with two factory drivers from Porsche’s Hypercar program in the World Endurance Championship: Daytona winner Mathieu Jaminet and Le Mans winner Matt Campbell.
“It’s a powerhouse of a lineup, and there’s no secret that we’ve been put in this car to win the race. Of course, that comes with a certain amount of pressure, but at the same time we know we have the package to do it. It’s an incredible opportunity for me to be part of such a high-stakes project in such an important race, and I can’t wait to get started,” Buus adds.
Buus, Campbell, and Jaminet will compete in the top-tier Pro class, where the trio will go up against 20 other cars from manufacturers such as Ferrari, Mercedes-AMG, Aston Martin, Ford, and BMW.
The opening practice sessions and qualifying for this year’s 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will take place on Thursday, June 26. The race itself goes green on Saturday, June 28 at 16:30 and can be followed live on YouTube.
