Educatius Launches 2nd Annual Aiducatius Creativity Internship in The Gambia

[Gothenburg, February 6, 2025] – Education has the power to change lives, open doors, and shape stronger communities. In keeping with its commitment to global education and cultural exchange, Educatius is thrilled to announce the 2nd annual Aiducatius Creativity Internship, set to take place in June 2025 at St. Martin’s Basic Cycle School in Kartong, The Gambia. This unique opportunity invites exchange students, alumni, teachers, host families, and local coordinators to apply and make a lasting impact through art and education.

Bridging Cultures Through Art

Since 2009, Educatius has helped thousands of students gain an education at St. Martin’s School, a vital learning hub in Kartong, a coastal village far removed from Gambia’s tourist centers. This school provides life-changing access to education, offering young people a pathway to opportunity.

The Aiducatius Creativity Internship brings global exchange participants closer to this mission, fostering artistic collaboration and cultural understanding. Selected interns will work hands-on with students and teachers, leading visual arts workshops, encouraging self-expression, and leaving behind much-needed art supplies to continue inspiring young learners long after the program ends.

A Transformational Experience

During the two-week program, a diverse team—including international exchange students or alumni, an art teacher, and a Local Coordinator or host family member—will immerse themselves in teaching, learning, and cultural exchange at St. Martin’s School.

Past participants from the 2024 internship included an art teacher from Arlington High School (Massachusetts), a Norwegian alumnus who studied in the USA, a Local Coordinator from Utah, and an Italian student currently studying in the UK. Each of them described the experience as profoundly meaningful, an opportunity that expanded their worldview and deepened their commitment to global education.

“Art has a way of breaking down barriers and creating connections that words sometimes can’t,” said Carla Kearns, Vice President of Communications at Educatius. “Watching students and interns from different cultures come together through creativity was incredible -it left a lasting impact on everyone involved.”

How to Apply for the 2025 Internship

The competition to join the 2025 Aiducatius Creativity Internship runs from February 1 to 28, 2025. Eligible applicants include current or former Educatius exchange students with artistic talent, teachers from Educatius partner schools, and Local Coordinators or host family members. A global panel of judges, in collaboration with St. Martin’s School staff, will select the final participants, with winners announced in late March.
