Spain launches a promotional campaign in Tallinn

The 26th edition of the Black Nights Film Festival took place in Tallinn (Estonia) from 11-27 November 2022 and Spain was promoted as a tourist destination during the event. Turespaña, through the Spanish Tourist Office in Helsinki, responsible for the Finnish and Estonian markets, participated in the festival with videos from the campaign “You deserve Spain”.

The Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival was founded in 1997 and is one of the biggest film festivals in Northern Europe, as well as one of the busiest regional industry platforms. The festival receives more than 1000 guests and industry delegates and over 160 journalists. During the event, around 250 features and more than 300 shorts and animations are broadcast and enjoyed by 80 000 people each year.

A campaign with three targets

The promotional campaign consisted of the projection of three videos from the campaign “You deserve Spain” on eight screens distributed across the Estonian capital, such as the Town Hall Square, the Coca-Cola Plaza Cinema or the airport. The videos had three different themes. The first video focused on family tourism in our country, with the aim of promoting Spain as a holiday and resting destination for families, while the second video was directed towards a young audience and promoted cities, shopping and culture. Finally, the third video highlighted Spain as a destination for couples, offering experiences linked to nature tourism and food and wine tourism.

Since 2014 the festival holds the FIAPF accreditation for holding an international competition programme which puts the festival into the A-category of film festivals, together with other 14 festivals in the world.
