Press release -

Spain will allow the entrance of travellers coming from COVID-19 high-risk countries or areas if they have a certificate of vaccination.

Spain will allow the entrance of travellers coming from COVID-19 high-risk countries or areas if they have a certificate of vaccination. Those whose do not have a certificate of vaccination must have a negative diagnostic certificate (with a negative PCR test -or other similar NAAT probes-, or with a negative antigen test).

All passengers arriving in Spain by air or sea, including those in transit, must complete a health control form before their departure using the Spain Travel Health website www.spth.gob.es or the Spain Travel Health app (SpTH, available for Android and iOS). By filling in the form, a QR code is generated, which the traveller must show to the transport company before boarding, as well as at the health control checks at the point of entry into Spain.

In addition, travellers coming from a high-risk country or area (1), such as Estonia, must certify one of the following health requirements:

a) Certificate of vaccination, which certifies the administration of the last dose of the complete vaccination schedule against COVID-19 at least 14 days before the arrival in Spain. The vaccines accepted shall be those authorised by the European Medicines Agency or those that have completed the World Health Organisation’s emergency use process (2).

b) Negative diagnostic certificate, which shows the negative result of an active infection diagnostic test for COVID-19, issued within 48 hours prior to arrival in Spain. (3)

c) Certificate of recovery, which confirms that the person who had the disease has overcome it. (4)

These certificates must be in Spanish, English, French or German. If it is not possible to obtain the original certificate in any of these languages, the document must be accompanied by a translation into Spanish done by an official authority. The valid certificates are the certificates issued by the competent authorities in the country of origin and the EU Digital COVID Certificate, once it comes into effect.

Children under 12 years of age are not required to present these certificates or supporting documents. However, children under 12 years of age must also have the QR code obtained after filling the SpTH health control form.
