Finnish Jani Paasikoski, among the top ten chefs selected in the World Paella Day Cup 2022

Finnish cook Jani Paasikoski has been selected as Top Ten chef in the World Paella Day Cup 2022. All finalists will travel to Valencia in September to experience World Paella Day and face each other on 20 September to compete and cook the best paella.

Jani Paasikoski was born in Helsinki, but he moved to the Mediterranean at a very young age. During his childhood, he discovered flavours, smells, textures and a dynamic and restless way of life that he would later remember in his native Finland where he began and completed his culinary studies. Paasikoski has been working in the kitchen for more than twenty years, mainly with traditional Spanish and Mediterranean gastronomy.

About World Paella Day

World Paella Day is a recognition to the most universal plate of Spanish gastronomy and is celebrated on 20 September. It is a day in which the Valencians share our great dish with the rest of the world to celebrate, beyond recipes and ingredients, the internationality of the paella. A meal of humble Valencian origin that has transcended all borders with eight million yearly searches on the internet, making it the fourth most important dish on the planet.
