Press release -

Spain is promoted in Finland as an accessible tourist destination

Turespaña will be present once again at the new edition of Apuväline, the most important fair for assistive technology and accessibility in Finland. The event will be held from 11 to 13 May 2022 at Messukeskus in Helsinki. The Spanish Tourist Office in Helsinki will participate in the fair as part of the framework of collaboration between Turespaña and Sanna Kalmari, a well-known expert in accessible tourism in the Nordic country.

During the three days of the event there will be an information point about Spain where visitors will be able to learn first-hand about the reasons that make Spain a completely accessible tourist destination. In addition, a specialised brochure entitled Esteetön Espanja (Spain without obstacles) will be distributed on the fair together with other promotional materials. Likewise, three talks will be held on Spain as an accessible tourist destination within the framework of the fair.

Spain is a leading tourist destination in terms of accessibility. Most of the Spanish infrastructures and a good part of the services and offers related to tourism in Spain comply with the accessibility requirements. In addition, accessibility is an essential element of the Sustainable Tourism Strategy of Spain.
