Latvia, a project in motion

Within its global mission Haaga-Helia entered Estonian market last year as Haaga-Helia Hospitality Competence Center in Estonia and has now been preparing for entering Latvia as the next option in the Baltic Sea Region.

At present there are 4 different missions on the table:

Cooperation with the Latvian Hotel and Restaurant Association, where within a project applied by the association Haaga-Helia would be a sub-contracting knowhow provider in the format of training. The cooperation negotiations in question started last autumn, and the mentioned activites are planned during the spring and launched starting from the autumn.

Cooperation with the Latvian Medical Tourism Cluster, where within a project applied by the cluster Haaga-Helia would be a trainer in the format of 5 different training sessions - a session per semester starting from the autumn. The cooperation negotiations in question started this winter.

Cooperation with the City of Jurmala, where Haaga-Helia is invited to deliver 1 training session for the local hospitality and tourism enterprises, which would take place either this autumn or next spring. The cooperation negotiations in question started this autumn.

Cooperation with the City of Riga/Live Riga, where the destination umbrella organization of the Latvian capital has expressed their interest in a number of topics, where Haaga-Helia could be acting as a knowhow provider based on Haaga-Helia's own experiences, or an intermediary between other stakeholders from Finland and Riga. The initial contact was established in February, and the follow-up meeting, including content presentations by Haaga-Helia staff, is planned in the end of April in Riga.
