Outsiders by Nature Film Festival 2023
Celebrating Outsiders by Nature with films about the adventures we seek and the journeys we share.
Haglöfs is excited to present the 2023 Outsiders by Nature Film Festival. Now in its third year running, the festival puts a spotlight on the incredible journeys undertaken by Haglöfs’ community of adventure-seeking ambassadors. Screening events, each showcasing a selection of this year’s festival films and cameos by some of Haglöfs’ adventurous ambassadors, will take place this fall at Haglöfs brand stores and partner locations across Europe.
“Not everyone has the chance–or the guts–to venture as far outside their comfort zones as our ambassadors,” says Mija Nideborn, Haglöfs’ Chief Brand and Product Officer. “But it’s our hope that these films will at least inspire people to go outside and pursue their own adventures with friends, exploring the spectacular nature that surrounds us.”
Tickets to the festival will be sold for 50 SEK/5 Euros each. Proceeds will go to Protect Our Winters (POW), a nonprofit founded by snowboarder Jeremy Jones that is focused on solving the climate crisis.
Demanding journeys, breathtaking landscapes, and all the moments in-between
The Outsiders by Nature Film Festival features Haglöfs’ community of ambassadors– professional climbers, free skiers and all-around adventure athletes– with an insatiable need to explore nature as well as their own limits. Each of this year’s films offers a glimpse of the breathtaking landscapes they traverse, the ambitious goals they strive for, the demanding and rewarding moments behind each journey.
“I love how this festival brings the whole community together,” says Magnus Granér, Haglöfs ambassador, adventurer, and filmmaker. “With our film, A Droned Odyssey, we want to awaken a feeling of wonder and mystery, like touching upon something much greater than human's sometimes limited beliefs.”

Produced together with the young pilot Luke Bredar, this film utilizes tools like FPV drone and AI to create an organic art piece which maintains the essence of The Bunch while, at the same time, transforming it into a new dimension. It’s an edgier, unapologetic take on the drone extreme sports film with an emphasis on aesthetics, flow, and mood.
BRAVE - featuring Maria Granberg
Maria Granberg is a professional mountain athlete mostly known for attempting to climb 8,000 meter plus mountains without supplemental oxygen and for becoming the second Swedish woman to summit Mt. Everest from the North face. With a background in the behavioral science field, Maria has developed a unique toolkit that not only gives her a fresh perspective but also serves as a humbling and hopeful reminder of what it means to be human. Produced by the team behind Open shop, Victor Annerstål and Martin Sandin, this film paints an intimate portrait of Maria as she prepares for the Manaslu ascent, and offers insights into what it really takes to live a life of extremes.
