HEAD Norway: Even better sales support for Norway

HEAD Sport GmbH opens its new subsidiary in Oslo, Norway on 01 January, 2021. After insolvency of long term partner Gresvig early this year, decision was quickly taken to go direct in Norway. Brand will be opened for a larger number of dealers and brand footprint ultimately increased.

HEAD Norway will have its new own office in Oslo, Fornebu, and the customer service will be located under the roof of Head Scandinavia in Åre due to the fact that a dedicated team will be responsible for that task in all Northern European markets. HEAD was distributed by Gresvig for more than 20 years in Norway which granted a solid growth together with a reliable partner. Because of this cooperation but also because of the large number of Norwegian athletes (Aksel Lund Svindal, Kjetil Jansrud,...) within the HEAD Rebels team, HEAD is today the leading wintersport-brand in Norway.

HEAD Norway will be managed by Martin Markussen, former Category Manager Alpine HW of Gresvig/ Intersport Norway, an experienced sporting goods manager with a large network within the industry, supported by Iacob Mehren who will fill the role as a Category Manager. Iacob has several years in the sporting goods industry, both from retail and as a distributor.

A junior sales representative has yet to be found.

Racket sport also to be part of HEAD Norway

HEAD Norway will also put the racketsport business on a new level. Due to the fact that Racketsport was not in the main focus of Gresvig, HEAD does not have the market position in Norway as in other markets. Magnus Holmqvist, who acted a Head Rackesport Manager for some Clubs and dealers, did an excellent job in his contractually guaranteed environment but could not serve the whole country. Facing the upcoming trend of Padel Tennis, where HEAD has a leading position in the international business, the field of new business opportunities opens up. HEAD will ship all orders from its international warehouse in Klaus/ Austria and will give dealers direct access to the stock for placing orders, 24/7.
