Paco Rassat on the podium in Madonna di Campiglio
In the Night Slalom in Madonna di Campiglio on Wednesday, Paco Rassat confirms his world-class form. The 27-year-old French athlete finishes third to stand on the podium for the second time this season following his victory in Gurgl.
"It was a very close race today. This podium is really important for Paco Rassat after his victory in Gurgl. It takes him up another notch and gives him the confidence in what he is doing. Overall, it was another brilliant performance. It gives us a positive feeling moving on to the next Slalom events," says HEAD Racing Director Rainer Salzgeber.
Paco Rassat clocks the fastest time on the second run
Paco Rassat started the second run in 16th place. The fastest time on the second run secured third place overall for the French athlete. With 240 points, he has successfully defended his third place in the Slalom ranking. "I'm very pleased with this podium. It is a great start to a January packed with a total of five classic Slalom races. I am going to keep trying to ski as fast as possible and see that I can give my best in each race," said Paco Rassat at the finish.
Two more HEAD Worldcup Rebels in the top ten
With Armand Marchant from Belgium in sixth place and Atle Lie McGrath from Norway in eighth place, two more HEAD Worldcup Rebels landed in the top ten. Armand Marchant skied an impressive third-fastest time on the second run. World Cup points also went to Linus Straßer from Germany in 14th place, and Johannes Strolz from Austria, who finished in 17th place.
