Press release -

Wendy Holdener's first podium finish in the Giant Slalom

Following 23 podium finishes in the Slalom, Wendy Holdener from Switzerland finished third in Courchevel to celebrate her Giant Slalom podium premiere. A total of five women from the HEAD team were among the top 13.

Wendy Holdener came fifth on the first run. With the eighth fastest time on the second run, the 26-year-old climbed another two places. This was the first podium place in this discipline for the Swiss athlete. Two fourth places - 2019 in Maribor and 2018 in Kranjska Gora - were previously the best Giant Slalom results on her list of successes.

Sara Hector from Sweden was in sixth place and was happy about her best result of the season so far. Maria Therese Tviberg from Norway came eighth to finish in the top ten for the second time, following her sixth place at the opening Giant Slalom in Sölden. Coralie Frasse-Sombet from France was twelfth, Lara Gut-Behrami from Switzerland 13th.

"This is an awesome result for us, I'm almost speechless," says HEAD Racing Director Rainer Salzgeber. "The best in our Giant Slalom team are missing. But we still made it to the podium and have five in the best 13. Wendy can still achieve a lot in Giant Slalom if she can unleash even more confidence. We saw today that it worked well for the athletes in our team who have placed their trust in their new equipment - skis and boots."
