Nordic top chefs host unique dinners and add a dash of wow to H22 City Expo

The biggest names in Nordic gastronomy join local eateries, breweries, and even a Swedish astronaut to explore the future of tasty sustainable food at H22. Award-winning Swedish chef Daniel Berlin, the culinary creator behind H22 City Expo’s food concept, reveals the spectacular programme for the 35-day event in Helsingborg, Sweden, this summer.

Acclaimed chef Daniel Berlin is working closely with H22 City Expo and is behind several top-tier events and concepts during the international event, 30 May-3 July. On Henry Dunkers Plats in the heart of Helsingborg, Berlin launches the packed programme 'Open up for Gastronomy'.

The programme includes exclusive dinners or “sittings” with guest chefs coming to cook up a storm in a show kitchen for those quick enough to nab a ticket. There are only 25 seats available for each dinner, and tickets for the first dinners can be bought starting 14 April at 10 am (CET) and are sold on a “first come, first served” basis. Some of the superstars ready to roll up their sleeves at H22 include:

  • Nicolai Nørregaard from restaurant Kadeau, Copenhagen and Bornholm (DK)
  • Niklas Ekstedt, Ekstedt at The Yard, London (UK) and Ekstedt, Stockholm (SE)
  • Filip Langhoff and Linda Stenman-Langhoff from restaurant ASK, Helsinki (FI)
  • Jacob Holmström from Gastrologik, Stockholm (SE)
  • Frida Ronge and Tea Malmegård from restaurants TAK and DoMa, Stockholm (SE)
  • Eigil Christensen from restaurang Moment, Rönde (DK)
  • Alex Nietosvuori and Ally Thompson from restaurant Hjem, Northumberland (UK)
  • Nicolai and Eva Tram from restaurant Knystaforsen, Rydöbruk (SE)

Starting 14 April, tickets can be booked here .

Daniel Berlin himself is also joining the local licorice factory Lakritsfabriken for a dinner that promises “A taste of licorice”. A fun experience for licorice lovers and a walk on the wild side for those who find this salty Swedish staple to be a bit of a challenge.

On the gastronomy stage, there will also be engaging talks with top experts and visionaries connected to the food industry, who discuss sustainability and the challenges of the future. Swedish astronaut Christer Fuglesang takes the stage to talk space food, along with the dos and don’ts of zero-g snacks. Swedish household name Tareq Taylor shares his takes on what tomorrow holds in home cooking.

There will be something for everyone during Open up for Gastronomy, and the goal is to create a truly open and accessible experience for all. Famished families can chow down at Holy Smoke BBQ and the foodies can get their fix with the guest chefs at the square. The school meals feature is a particularly important element for me personally. That’s why I’ll be cooking dinner alongside some ambitious school chefs and hosting an exclusive sitting together with them,” says Daniel Berlin.
