2025 in Review: MOWL® Takes Off
After almost ten years of building immersive indoor cycling experiences under the Intelligent Cycling® name, we're ready for more. More motivation, more magic, and more group fitness modalities.
So, in 2025, we adopted the name of our owl mascot, spread our wings and set our sights on new horizons. The rebrand marked our intention to go beyond the bike. And, in 2026, we begin delivering on that ambition, bringing the simplicity and intelligence you know from our indoor cycling solutions to the rest of your cardio catalogue.
But first, here’s a bird’s-eye view of our first year as MOWL®.
2025 Key Product Launches
Throughout the year, MOWL® delivered major software developments that reshaped how our community moves.
Connected Like Never Before
Starting the year strong, January's Apple Watch integration made it easier for riders to stay motivated, monitor performance data, and make the most of one of the world's most popular wearables.
Let the GAMES Begin
In February, we launched GAMES, introducing team-based challenges and competitive play to the platform. In May, GAMES was tested at scale when 270+ riders battled it out at Northern Europe’s biggest bike event, showing just how powerful teamwork and friendly competition can be.
The Journey Goes Supersonic
In May, we released Supersonic, a high-energy, audio-visual world in The Journey, built to make your ride look and feel as dynamic as your playlist.
FTP Made Easy
September marked the year's last major release: our first in-app FTP test. Training matched to your fitness level starts with an accurate FTP. By making FTP testing easily accessible within the app, it's easier than ever to train smarter with MOWL®.
A Growing Global Community
In 2025, MOWL®’s reach expanded significantly:
- Users signed up from many more countries, bringing our total to 236 countries and territories represented
- 21% increase in users created
- 19% increase in workouts played
- 20% increase in workouts created with the Session Designer
2025 by the Numbers
Together, our users had another record-breaking year working out with the MOWL® app:
- 60,163,216 km travelled
- 2,123,752 hours spent on the bike
- 1,237,235,235 calories burned
- 18,724,221,129 watts generated
Compared to 2024, that means:
- +39.7% more hours on the bike
- +40.4% more distance travelled
- +37.8% more calories burned
- +39.5% more power output
Even more riders chose to connect Bluetooth devices in 2025, resulting in a 38.5% increase in connected workouts. This gives us deeper insight into how our community moves and helps inform the platform's continued development.
