JYSK has chosen Willy Naessens Netherlands as contractor for the global home furnishing chain’s new distribution centre in the Netherlands. The family-owned construction company will manage the complete construction, which will be certified according to the international sustainability standard LEED.
The global home furnishing chain JYSK continues to expand on the Polish market and opened its 300th store on 10 April 2024. The goal is to reach 500 stores in Poland.
On 2 April 2024, it is 45 years since Lars Larsen, also known as the Tradesman, opened the first JYSK store in Denmark. Five years later, he also opened in Germany, which has since grown to be the largest market for JYSK.
JYSK is implementing new production and packaging initiatives that reduce the use of aluminium by 22 tonnes and the needed freight space equivalent of 40 shipping containers annually.
JYSK has now signed contracts with two specialised companies, Körber and voestalpine, to deliver the automation and high bay warehouses for the global home furnishing retailer’s new distribution centre in Lelystad, the Netherlands.
On 18 January 2024, JYSK colleagues laid out 1,535 pillows on the top of the Tempodrom in Berlin, forming the longest line of pillows in the world. This achievement earned a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title.
With the opening of a new store in Türkiye, JYSK is expanding its great Scandinavian offers to even more customers. So far with three stores in Istanbul and a fourth on the way in 2024.
For the financial year 2022/23 (FY23), JYSK reached an EBIT result of DKK 3.96 billion (EUR 531 million) and increased its turnover by 6.3% to DKK 38.5 billion (EUR 5.2 billion.) The global home furnishing retailer continued its expansion plans and welcomed over 1.2 million new customers to its stores despite the slowdown in the global retail market.
To further support JYSK’s ambitious expansion plans for more stores in Spain and Portugal, the global retail company will strengthen its logistics setup with a new distribution centre in Almenara, south of Castellón.
The global retail company JYSK will present five employees from two different countries in new recruitment materials launching in spring 2024.
The turnover for JYSK increased by 6.3 percent reaching DKK 38.5 billion (EUR 5.2 billion) for the financial year 2022/23, setting a new record for the global home furnishing company.
