Press release -
Planacy, helping companies streamline their financial planning, gears up with Monterro.
Monterro, the Nordics’ leading B2B software investor, has acquired a majority stake in the Swedish company Planacy, a SaaS platform for data-driven financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and follow-up. The partnership allows Planacy to accelerate its product development for continued growth and international expansion.
"We look for Nordic software companies with the potential to become market leaders in their niche – and Planacy is exactly that," says Leif Bohlin, Managing Director at Monterro and incoming Chairman of the Board at Planacy. "They have an appreciated, value-creating product and a strong market position, which is a solid foundation for accelerating growth. We look forward to supporting them on their journey ahead, both in strategic and operational matters."
Planacy streamlines and improves financial planning for medium and large organizations
Planacy offers a platform that helps medium and large businesses across various industries to streamline their financial planning. With user-friendly, customizable modules in a modern interface, Planacy's customers can easily budget, plan, analyze, and forecast in a more data-driven way. It increases engagement and accountability within the organization, while reducing administrative tasks and enhancing work quality. The platform is currently used by several hundred customers in multiple countries, such as WSP, ASSA ABLOY, foodora, Marshall, and Clear Channel.
Planacy is ready to accelerate with support from Monterro
The company has experienced steady growth for several years, and the goal is for this strong growth to continue. Many investors have shown interest in Planacy, but the choice ultimately fell on Monterro as the new owners.
"Monterro stood out as an investor," says Erik Gidlund, CEO of Planacy. "They offer not only capital but also unique industry knowledge and valuable expertise in scaling B2B software companies. We are very pleased with the choice of Monterro and are happy to take the next step in our growth journey together."
Monterro is an active owner. Two-thirds of Monterro's employees have operational backgrounds in the software industry, and they have successfully supported and developed more than 30 Nordic software companies on their journey to international expansion.
"Our good reputation has given us a solid growth in Sweden, and our ambition is to become a leader in several countries," says Erik Gidlund at Planacy. "Therefore, with Monterro's support, we will scale up the organization and increase our focus on our product development."
Monterro becomes the main owner with the acquisition. The founders and operational owners remain significant owners.
