Cycle Culture: "Motosumo is a perfect partner for us!"

Founded by Paul and Mili in 2018, Cycle Culture, one of Motosumo’s partners, is driven by passion and a commitment to providing the ultimate indoor cycling experience for its members.

Paul and Mili left their finance jobs to pursue their passion and founded Cycle Culture in 2018. Both have had tremendous fitness success with indoor cycling. This isn’t just a hobby or business – it’s their life!

“Our entire ethos at Cycle Culture is about community, which makes Motosumo a perfect partner! Our members have befriended each other, sit with each other after class in our coffeehouse, and spend time together outside of class, too!”

Cycle Culture is not your ordinary indoor cycling studio. Founded by Paul and Mili, this dynamic duo has turned their passion for indoor cycling into a thriving business. At the heart of Cycle Culture lies a commitment to providing members with a year-round, results-driven program. The culture at Cycle Culture is designed to support members in their fitness journey, with a focus on building confidence and motivation.

Their instructors are passionate about indoor cycling and have a strong desire to see their members succeed. Cycling Culture instructors have backgrounds in health and wellness, coaching, or personal training. This fits the Motosumo culture perfectly, as the need for a community to improve fitness is integral to a successful fitness journey.

“The Motosumo Platform only adds to our offering as we continue to attract new riders. This is a tremendous tool for our instructor team as it allows us to effectively coach our members in real-time and adjust on the fly.”

The introduction of Motosumo to Cycle Culture's classes has elevated the experience for both riders and instructors alike. Cycle Culture uses Schwinn bikes that provide power as an absolute number, but this doesn't always provide the full story of a person's workout. Motosumo has enabled participants to closely monitor their progress in real time using metrics such as FTP%, watts/kg, power color zones, and more. The added ability to engage with fellow riders via team races, timers, and emojis has made classes even more enjoyable and interactive.

“Our instructors and riders love the ability to view their power in Motosumo throughout class. Advanced stats like this elevate the workout experience.”

While Cycle Culture only offers in-person classes, Motosumo has helped attract new riders and bolstered the studio's overall community ethos. Providing personalized power color zones and power metrics allows instructors to effectively push riders when needed, resulting in greater motivation and workout intensity.

“Motosumo’s advanced features are perfect for us. Having power available in FTP%, watts/kg, and having personalized power color zones make all the difference in how our instructors can deliver a class. Being able to view our members' power in real-time allows our instructors to effectively push our riders when and as appropriate.”

The ability to track progress and compare performance with other riders has also motivated many participants to push themselves harder in order to earn more points. This, combined with the availability of classes during off-peak hours, has allowed Cycle Culture to attract new cyclists who might not have otherwise taken a class at the studio

With Motosumo, there’s a heightened sense of community among members. The live-class environment fosters strong relationships, with riders often socializing both inside and outside of class. The app also serves as a great resource for riders who are unfamiliar with the studio and its classes. This allows them to learn more about each class before they arrive, which can help some people overcome anxiety about trying something new.

“They were hesitant at first [about using emojis and embracing a community feeling around fitness], but now they won't stop talking to us and each other throughout the class!”

Although Cycle Culture does not utilize a leaderboard for members, their instructors do have access to a tablet displaying team stats. This information allows them to effectively coach members in real time and make adjustments as necessary. The app also offers riders the opportunity to track their progress over time, allowing them to set goals for themselves and hold themselves accountable.

Cycle Culture's partnership with Motosumo has been invaluable in providing the ultimate indoor cycling experience for their members.

“It's a great solution run by great people. We love to partner with companies who share our passion for loving what they do. We've had Motosumo since day 1 and look forward to continuing to work with them in the future.”
